A digital linear measuring device includes a housing (10), a reel located within a housing and a measuring tape (20) wound on the reel. The measuring tape is extendable through an opening (9) in the housing as the reel is rotated. An incremental measuring means (50) is associated with the reel for generating incremental measuring data and an absolute measuring means (30) cooperates with measuring tape for generating absolute measurement data as the measuring tape is extended. A processing unit is responsive to both the incremental measurement data and to the absolute measurement data for generating output reflecting linear extension of the measuring tape from the housing, and a display (23) is responsive to the processing unit for displaying information reflecting the linear extension of the measuring tape from the housing.
Dispositif de mesure linéaire numérique comprenant un logement (10), une bobine située à l'intérieur du logement et un ruban à mesurer (20) enroulé sur la bobine. Le ruban à mesurer sort par une ouverture (9) dans le logement au fur et à mesure qu'on tourne la bobine.
