ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 12-Epi-digoxin and derivatives thereof of formula (I): Image wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen lower acyl radicals and lower alkyl radicals, R3 is a hydrogen atom or a lower acyl radical and R4 is a hydrogen atom or a saturated or unsaturated, branched or unbranched aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms; the new digoxin derivatives of the inven- tion have a substantially better therapeutic spectrum than the corresponding known digoxin derivatives and are especially well suited for the therapy of cardiac insufficiency.
