A dilating catheter for insertion into a body duct. The catheter includes an outer tubular member having a distal portion and a proximal portion, wherein the distal portion has a radially deformable portion having a balloon, and, on either side of said balloon, at least one opening communicating with said body duct and enabling the fluid in the duct to pass therethrough; an inner tubular member (1); and a microtube (7) having one end located inside the balloon while the other end is connected to a fluid supply for inflating and deflating said balloon. The balloon (2) includes an outer wall designed to contact the inner wall of the body duct in the operative position, and an inner wall sealably attached to said outer wall and capable of defining an inner annular cavity therewith in the operative position. Said catheter further includes a shaped supporting member for retaining said inner balloon wall in the operative position while enabling the circulation of body fluid in the space between said inner element and the inner wall (9) of the balloon. The catheter is particularly useful for treating disorders of the coronary arteries.
2127112 9313826 La présente invention concerne un cathéter de dilatation, destiné à être introduit dans un canal corporel du type comprenant: un élément tubulaire externe comportant une partie distale et une partie proximale, présentant au niveau de sa partie distale une portion déformable radialement comportant un ballon, et de part et d'autre de ce ballon au moins un orifice communiquant avec ledit canal corporel et permettant le passage du fluide circulant dans le canal corporel; un élément tubulaire interne (1); un micro-tube (7), débouchant à une extrémité à l'intérieur dudit ballon et relié à son autre extrémité à une source d'alimentation en fluide pour permettre le gonflage et le dégonflage dudit ballon. Selon l'invention, le ballon (2) comprend une paroi externe destinée à venir en contact avec la paroi interne dudit canal corporel, en position d'utilisation; et une paroi interne fixée de manière étanche à ladite paroi externe et susceptible de délimiter avec celle-ci, en position d'utilisation, une cavité interne annulaire; et ce cathéter comprend en outre un élément de support conformé pour maintenir en position d'utilisation ladite paroi interne du ballon, tout en permettant la circulation du fluide corporel dans l'espace compris entre ledit élément interne et la paroi interne (9) du ballon. L'invention trouve notamment application dans le traitement des affections des artères coronaires.
