ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mixture comprising a cationic surfactant and a dimethylamide of a straight chain carbon carboxylic acid containing 12 to 18 carbon atoms is useful in the treatment of cellulose pulp to reduce inter-fiber bonding, thus obtaining a low mechanical strength pulp sheet and having little or no adverse effects upon the hydrophilic properties of said fibers.
