There is described an amine / ester adduct formed between dimethylamine (DMA) and at least one optionally substituted .alpha.,.szlig. unsaturated ester obtained or obtainable by reacting a suitable acrylic or methacrylic acid with a suitable alcohol or polyol, characterised that said adduct has a level of amination above about 75%. The adduct may be used as a co-activator and/or reactive diluent for UV curable, polymerisable formulations. A process for preparing the adduct is also described as are polymers made therefrom. The adduct and polymers made therefrom are preferably substantially free of free- DMA and/or odour free.
La présente invention concerne un produit d'addition amine/ester formé entre une diméthylamine (DMA) et au moins un ester .alpha.,.beta. insaturé facultativement substitué obtenu ou pouvant être obtenu par la réaction d'un acide acrylique ou méthacrylique adéquat avec un alcool ou un polyol adéquat, lequel produit d'addition est caractérisé en ce qu'il possède un niveau d'amination supérieur à 75 % environ. Le produit d'addition de l'invention peut être utilisé comme co-activateur et/ou diluant réactionnel dans les formulations polymérisables aux UV. L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé de préparation du produit d'addition précité et à des polymères fabriqués à partir de ce dernier. Le produit d'addition de l'invention et les polymères fabriqués à partir de celui-ci sont de préférence sensiblement dépourvus de DMA libre et/ou sans odeur.
