ABSTRACT An intimate, co-dried mixture of a major amount of tricalcium phosphate and a minor amount of locust bean gum is useful for the preparation of tablets by the direct compression technique. The mixture is blended with an active material and fillers, disintegrating agents and lubricants, and the resulting blend is compressed without prior granulation or slugging to form a tablet containing at least about 10 weight per cent of the co-dried mixture.
