A process is disclosed for the epoxidation of an olefin with hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of an oxidation catalyst comprising a transition metal zeolite, and a noble metal catalyst comprising a noble metal and an ion- exchange resin. The process is highly productive and selective in making epoxides. A noble metal catalyst comprising a cation-exchanged resin further improves the productivity and/or the selectivity of the process.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'époxydation d'une oléfine à l'aide d'hydrogène et d'oxygène, en présence d'un catalyseur d'oxydation comprenant une zéolite à base de métal de transition, et d'un catalyseur à base de métal noble comprenant un métal noble et une résine échangeuse d'ions. Le procédé est hautement productif et sélectif pour la production d'époxydes. Un catalyseur à base de métal noble comprenant une résine échangeuse de cations améliore encore la productivité et/ou la sélectivité du procédé.
