The liquid-phase epoxidation reaction of an olefin with hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst mixture comprising titanium zeolite and a supported catalyst surprisingly shows higher activity toward epoxide production when the supported palladium catalyst is pre-treated with bromide, or where the reaction is performed in the presence of an alkali or alkaline earth metal bromide compound.

La réaction d'époxydation en phase liquide d'une oléfine avec de l'hydrogène et de l'oxygène en présence d'un mélange catalyseur comprenant une zéolite au titane et un catalyseur sur support, présente de manière surprenante, une plus forte activité de production d'époxyde lorsque le catalyseur au palladium sur support est préchauffé avec du bromure, ou lorsque la réaction est effectuée en présence d'un composé de bromure alcalin ou de bromure de métaux alcalino-terreux.
