The invention is a liquid-phase process for epoxidizing an olefin with hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of a supported catalyst comprising palladium on niobium-containing support. The process exhibits good productivity and selectivity for olefin epoxidation with hydrogen, and oxygen. This is particularly surprising because typical palladium-containing epoxidation catalysts require the presence of a titanium zeolite.

L'invention concerne un procédé à phase liquide d'époxydation d'oléfine avec de l'hydrogène et de l'oxygène en présence d'un catalyseur supporté comprenant du palladium sur un support contenant du niobium. Ledit procédé présente une bonne productivité et une bonne sélectivité pour l'epoxydation d'oléfine avec de l'hydrogène et de l'oxygène. Cela est particulièrement surprenant, étant donné que les catalyseurs d'époxydation contenant du palladium classiques nécessitent la présence d'une zéolite de titane.
