ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A process for the production of ortho silicic acid esters and their oligomers of the general formula: Image in which R represents an alkyl radical having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms or an alkyl radical of 1 to 12 carbon atoms containing at least one oxygen or sulfur atom in its chain and n is ranging between 1 and 10, by esterification of chlorosilanes or chlorosiloxanes with primary alcohols, optionally in the presence of water. This process is characterized in that the alcohols are directly introduced into the liquid chlorosilanes or siloxanes without contact with the gas and, upon completion of the reaction, the rest of the hydrogen chloride formed during the reaction is removed from the reaction zone. The invention enables one to control the complete esterification of the chlorosilanes and chlorosiloxanes in such a way that the required ester is formed in the highest possible yields and is as free from impurities as possible.
