ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Department keys for introducing department access code information, numeral keys for introducing numeral data, a PLU instruction key for instructing a PLU operation, and a memory for storing preset data and registered data. The memory includes a first memory section associated with each department, each department having an access code; and a second memory section associated with each PLU code including corresponding cost information. The first memory section includes a memory area which stores the department access code assigned to each of the department keys and the second memory is generative of the department access code for addres- sing the second memory with the PLU code and selecting the corresponding cost information.
