ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is a process of synthesising a crystalline aluminosilicate reolite from an aqueous reaction mixture containing sources of silicate, of aluminate and of cautions in a quantity at least equivalent to the aluminum in the mixture. The source of the cations comprises a polymer selected from ionenes and ionomers of such equivalent weight, and in such quantity, as to balance the negative charge on 1 to 100 percent of the aluminum-containing tatrahedra of the resulting reolite with positively charged polymer nitrogen atoms. The resulting zeolites can be obtained as open structure crystals and are useful as sorbents and catalysts.
