DIRECTIONAL INLET FITTING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A directional inlet fitting is disclosed for supplying water or other fluids to a swimming pool or similar tank. The inlet fitting has a body assembly with a directional ball rotatably mounted therein. The directional ball has a central flow channel therethrough, so that rotation of the ball changes the direction of fluid flow through the inlet fitting. The ball is retained in position by a lock ring mounted on the outlet end of the fitting, and the ball is spring biased into engagement with the lock ring. The direction of the fluid flow emerging from the fitting is changed by depressing the ball which compresses the spring, rotating the ball through the desired number of degrees of change of direction, and releasing the ball to again engage and be retained in the new position by the lock ring.
