ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A disc brake assembly for use with large, off-highway vehicles, and comprising suitable brake calipers cooperating with an annular brake disc which is disposed outboard of the calipers for providing greater heat dissipation upon the application of braking pressure, and the disc member is carried by the vehicle whereby the braking effort goes directly into the wheels for increasing the overall braking efficiency.
