ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A disc brake device for motor-cycles and the like, comprising a fixing bracket of an inverted U-shape having a flat horizontal roof plate and downwardly extending side plates. A pair of caliper arms joined together by a connecting rod and slideably mounted thereon in the space provided between the side plates of the fixing bracket. A fixed friction brake pad is held in one of the caliper arms and a movable friction brake pad is slideably inserted in the bore formed in the other caliper arm so as to be press-engageable with a brake disc of a wheel of the vehicle interposed between the friction brake pads by a brake actuating lever through a screwing action between a male threaded screw member and a female threaded screw member fixedly mounted in the caliper arm accommodating the movable friction pad. An adjustment screw threaded bolt is also provided concentrically with the brake pad actuating threaded screw members to compensate wear occurred in the movable friction pad, the brake actuating lever being fitted to a square shaft provided at the end part of the threaded screw member, and tightly fastened thereto by a lock nut.
