ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Improvements relating to Disc concentrators. A number of filter chambers each composed of two adjacent filter discs 1 are so attached as to be free to rotate to the casing of a drum-like filtrate chamber with a connection being provided between the filter chambers and the filtrate chamber via a number of openings. The run-off of the filtrate takes place at one or both of the end surfaces of the filtrate chamber into a filtrate collection space bounded by the trough by means of one or two rotating seals As usual, the suspension inlet is provided on one surface of the discs or on a side wall of the trough and the suspension outlet is provided on the opposite side wall of the trough. The field of appliction relates primarily to aqueous suspensions containing fibrous components.
