ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A disc drive arrangement of simplified construction for a disc cartridge with a magnetic disc retained therein by an urging member, in which after the disc cartridge with the magnetic disc is loaded on the disc drive arrangement, the up and down movement of the cartridge to the disc drive section, head's contacting with and coming apart from the magnetic disc, and the releasing operation of the urging of the urging member against the disc are carried out at a predetermined timing successively, thus the disc cartridge with the magnetic disc being positively loaded and driven by a simplified arrangement.
