Disclosed is herein a disc drive system comprising: a magnetic disc, spindle motor means for rotating the magnetic disc, transducer means for transducing information from and onto the magnetic disc and biasing means for biasing the transducer means against the magnetic disc with different biasing pressure according to the rotation speed of the magnetic disc. When the rotational speed of the disc is increased, the pressure due to the air flow generated by the rotation of the disc is raised. A spacing distance of the magnetic heads from the disc tends to increase. However, according to the preferred embodiment, since the pressure of the leaf spring, that is, a contact pressure between the magnetic heads and the disc is increased, the spacing distance of the magnetic heads from the disc may be maintained substantially constant. Therefore, although the rotational speed of the disc is increased, a spacing loss, for example, is not increased, thereby enabling good reproduction.
