ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a refiner the width of the gap is indicated by a transmitter located in one of two counter-rotating refiner discs. The indicating device operates according to the reluctance method, and electric effect is transferred contact-free to the transmitter via one axle through a transformer coupling. The measurement signal from the transmitter is transferred contact-free from a transmitting means on the axle to a stationary receiver means.
