DISC PLAYERS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A disc player for reproducing an information signal from a disc on which a plurality of program information partitions are recorded together with an address information in sequence of a predetermined address order, which includes a pickup device for reading the program information partitions and address information on the disc, driving device for moving the pickup device, a deciphering circuit for deciphering a reproduced address data obtained from an output of the pickup device and a system controller which controls the driving device in response to an output of the deciphering circuit so as to position the pickup device at the beginning end of each of the program information partitions and immediately after that to make the pickup divece operate to read the initial portion of that program information partition for a predetermined short time in sequence in accordance with the predetermined address order.
