Findings by sports optometrists conclude that sporting hand eye coordination is improved when high colour contrast between figure and ground exist. Ground is defined as any and all possible background colouring. Since such a relationship between vision and hand eye coordination occurs when any arrangements that reduce vision perception are used in training it establishes a training task that is above the norm and hence are expected to lead to superior results. Military targets may be prepared in camouflage, or any colours expected to be close to or replication of the naturally anticipated military target backgrounds. High contrast improves visual performance and the accompanying hand eye or hand foot coordination needed in both military and athletics leading to improved battleground and sport performance. It hence follows that practicing with dis-coloured contrast, referred herein as specific dis-colouration of the prime sports object, and military targets, challenges the military personnel and athlete to elevate visual competence and performance. Training the eyes to handle less agreeable colours by use of the method described improves the visual acuity and associated hand-eye or foot-eye coordination to raise athletic performance in contests and games and military performance in battle.
