Canada E-344(PSD/PSE) DISCONNECT SWITCH WITH BLADE AND JAW-TYPE CONTACT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A disconnect switch comprising a switch jaw, a switch blade, a rotor crank, a trunnion and a linkage is disclosed. In prior art disconnect switches, the longi- tudinal length component of the linkage coupling the trunnion to the switch blade increased as a direct function of the longitudinal length component of the rotor crank as the rotor crank was rotated between the fully opened and fully closed positions. The disclosed disconnect switch relocates the relative positions of the several elements of the disconnect switch such that the longitudinal component of the linkage length varies as an inverse function of the longitudinal component of the rotor crank length so as to maintain the overall longi- tudinal length of the rotor crank and linkage approxi- mately constant as the switch blade is rotated between the individual contact fingers of the switch jaw.
