ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed a treated fiber which comprises discontinuous cellulose fiber having an aspect ratio greater than one, up to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of a fiber of a plastic polymer to reduce fiber to fiber affinity, and between 5 to 60 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of fiber of a lubricant of molecular weight greater than 95 to enhance receptiveness of the fiber to the polymer. The inven- tion simplifies the preparation of treated fiber and provides an improved polymer treated fiber or concentrate which incor- porates into a polymer matrix quickly without excessive fiber breakage and without generating a high mix temperature.
