Described is a portable directional receiver (fig. 2). It comprises a non- visual communicator, a self-contained source of electrical energy, a detector (D1) for receiving a sensed continuous frequency modulated infrared signal, and electronics (Q2, Q3, Q4) converting the sensed signal into intelligible non-visual communication emanating from the communicator both in the presence and in the absence of an ambient background of light energy, such as sunlight. The device is adapted for use by the visually impaired in finding desired locations from which suitable modulated infrared signals are continuously emitted.
L'invention porte sur un récepteur directionnel portatif comportant un élément de communication non visuel, une source indépendante d'énergie électrique, un détecteur (D1) destiné à recevoir un signal IR détecté à fréquence continue modulée et un équipement électronique (Q2, Q3, Q4) convertissant le signal détecté en un signal intelligible non visuel émis par le récepteur et cela en présence ou en l'absence d'une source d'énergie telle que la lumière solaire. L'appareil destiné aux personnes mal voyantes permet de trouver des emplacements recherchés d'où provient un signal IR à émission continue modulé adéquatement.
