A support assembly (20) is provided for selectively supporting an aircraft engine cowling (36) on an aircraft, the latch assembly including a cowling support (42) mounted to the cowling, an aircraft support (24) mounted to the aircraft frame; and a latching member. The latching member (28) is moveable between a first position, in which it substantially fixes the cowling support (42) to the aircraft support (24), and a second position, in which it permits the cowling support (42) to move relative to the aircraft support (24). The support assembly (20) also variably mounts the engine cowling (36) to the aircraft mount such the support assembly substantially isolates the first support mount from a transfer of cowling weight from the second support mount in an 'open' condition, and permits a transfer of cowling weight from the second support mount to the first support mount in a 'closed' condition.

La présente invention se rapporte à un ensemble de support (20) conçu pour supporter sélectivement un capot moteur (36) situé sur un aéronef, l'ensemble de verrouillage comportant un support de capot (42) monté sur le capot, un support d'aéronef (24) monté sur le châssis de l'aéronef, et un élément de verrouillage. Ledit élément de verrouillage (28) est mobile entre une première position, dans laquelle il fixe sensiblement le support de capot (42) sur le support d'aéronef (24), et une seconde position, dans laquelle il permet au support de capot (42) de se déplacer par rapport au support d'aéronef (24). L'ensemble de support (20) permet également la fixation variable du support moteur (36) sur le bâti de l'aéronef de sorte que l'ensemble de support isole sensiblement le premier bâti de support d'un transfert de poids du capot à partir du second bâti de support en position "ouverte", et permet un transfert de poids du capot à partir du second bâti de support vers le premier bâti de support en position "fermée".
