Abstract This invention relates to plastic dish-shaped utensils for use in microwave ovens. The utensil is formed from two shells, an inner shell and an outer shell, where both shells have peripheral and laterally projecting edge-webs. The shells are firmly joined at their edge webs by means of welding. A space exists between the shells except at the edge-webs. The utensil offers increased durability with reduced production costs over the prior art.
