Abstract of Disclosure Described is a magnetic disk drive wherein machine elements are mounted to maximize servicing-access to certain subassemblies from the sides and from the top, with a thin, elongate, rectangular "plenum box" being disposed relatively centrally within the machine so as to mount these sub-assemblies, while also providing them with a closely-adjacent reservoir of pressurized air, very apt for directing cooling air-jets through such sub-assemblies, so-mounted, without need for air conduits.
