A floppy disk liner (16) is formed of one or more later bonded non-woven fibers. The fibers forming the liner may be formed from a cellulosic material, a thermoplastic material, or a combination of cellulosic and thermoplastic material. At least one site of the liner (18) has a plurality of indentations that do not entirely penetrate the liner. The indentations (20) nay occupy a total of not less than about 15 % of the surface area of the liner.
