ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a novel dispenser for dis- pensing a reproducibly equal amount of material such as toothpaste, by a simple and easy one-hand operation. The dispenser has a cylinder and a piston therein which moves in the cylinder towards the opening thereof. The piston is clamped on the inner wall of the cylinder at the opposite end by a clip-type reed spring. The cylinder is mounted for longitudinal displacement counter to the action of a return spring in a housing-type container which serves as a grip and to which a piston rod is connected. When pressure is applied to the top of the cylinder, a portion of the material is ejected and the piston is affixed to the piston rod. During the return stroke of the cylinder, the piston is affixed to the cylinder. This improved structure allows for dispensing of a reproducibly equal amount of material by simple one-hand operation through simple actuation in a constant direction in the side of the ejection opening, which has hithertobefore been impossible with the prior art devices.
