Dispenser to be fitted on the top of an aerosol can (4). In order to atomise a very smell quantity of the contents of the aerosol can (4) at regular intervals by automated means, it is proposed to fit en attachment having an electrically operated valve (8) on the aerosol can (4). Operation of said valve (8) takes place via a controller which is supplied with power exclusively by photovoltaic means (2). In this way it is ensured that dispensing of the desired material takes place only in an environment where there is adequate light.
