A dispenser for paper wipes and the like comprising a first container which is adapted to hold a stack of wipes, the first container having an aperture in one face providing an opening through which wipes may be dispensed, and a second container for receiving used or soiled wipes, the second container having an aperture in one face providing an opening through which wipes may be passed, a portion of each of the first and of the second containers being movable between a closed position and a released position in which the first container may be filled or emptied or in which the second container may be emptied, wherein complementary connection means are provided on the first and second containers, said connection means being adapted to releasably join together the two containers and each container is adapted to contain and retain wipes, when separated from the other container.
