- 16 - RBP File No. 5628-001 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Dispensing apparatus for dispensing predetermined quantities of liquid into a container comprises a housing having a container receiving portion, a pump for fluid communication with a bulk fluid source and having an outlet at the container receiving portion and a metering device for measuring the quantity of fluid flowing from the pump outlet, the metering device being operable to stop the flow of liquid after a predetermined volume has passed through the outlet. The apparatus further includes a sensor for detecting the presence of a container in the container receiving portion. The sensor will only permit the flow of fluid through the outlet when a container is located in the receiving portion.
