ABSTRACT Dispensing apparatus (10) for business cards (17) or other planar articles arranged in a stack (19) comprising a hollow housing (11) provided with a dispensing slot (16) in its front wall (15) and which is cut away in its top wall (12) so that a finger may be inserted to withdraw an article (17). The dispensing apparatus (10) is provided with upper and lower flanges (34,35) which are located rearwardly of frame members (41) of a grid-like frame mounted to a backing board (37). A block (24) of resilient material which biases the stack (19) of articles towards the top wall (15) also engages the backing board (37) to urge the flanges (34,35) into firm engagement with the members (41).
