ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dispensing machine for cigarette packages and other articles comprising a cabinet with compartments having a tray designed to move into and out of the compartments and withdraw articles therefrom. The device is provided with means to lock the compartments and means to record when a tray is moved to withdraw an article from the compartments. Additional means is provided to prevent the tray from being operated partway into or partway out of the compartments.
