ABSTRACT A dispensing device, which made be fitted in place of a lid on the mouth of a jar of coffee or other granular material, allows dispensing of the material in measured amounts. The device has a cylindrical body which houses a rotor with a series of compartments. The volume of the compartments may be adjusted by the installation of one or more inserts into those compartments. The rotor is rotated by means of a handle which connects to an axle holding the rotor within the cylindrical body. After installation of the device on a jar mouth, the jar and device may be inver- ted such that both rest on a planar surface of the device. Almost one-half of the rotor may extend into the jar mouth, allowing a corresponding reduction in the size of that por- tion of the device that sits outside of the jar mouth.
