ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE The object of the invention is to provide a unit for holding, opening, dispensing, and storing packaged particulate materials. The dispensing unit of the invention will comprise a support (20) for a package (36) containing a flowable particu- late material, a cutting member (22) for opening the package, and a removable closure means (24) to cover a dispensing opening (30) in the side wall (28) of the support. The cutting member has at least one sharpened piercing portion (38) and a sharpened leading edge (42) to provide a clean cut into the package by transverse and preferably rotating movement relative to the package.
