ABSTRACT Lubricating oil additives having both dispersa?t and viscosity- index improving properties are prepared by ozonizing a terpolymer of ethylene, a C3 to C8 alpha-olefin, and a non-conjugated diene, and reacting the ozonized terpolymer with certain amines, or alkane polyols. Optionally, the ozonized terpolymer can be reacted with oxygen before reaction with the amine or polyol.
