-13- ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE DISPLAY PANEL HAVING MEMORY A display panel comprising a gas-filled envelope containing an array of rows and columns of D.C. scan/address cells, each scan/address cell including a volume of gas and an anode electrode and a cathode electrode, and an array of rows and columns of display cells, each display cell including a volume of gas and two electrodes, one electrode being in the form of an apertured plate whose apertures are the display cells, the other electrode being an apertured electrode whose apertures are considerably smaller than the apertures in the one electrode and so numerous that the greater portion of the area of the other electrode is light-transmissive whereby the human eye does not see the solid portions of the other electrode which define the apertures therein.
