The present invention relates to disposable absorbent articles capable of self shaping in use particularly sanitary napkins or pantiliners. In particular the present invention relates to such disposable absorbent articles which are worn by direct attachment to the skin of the wearer in the area where absorption of bodily liquids is desired and which are activated during use to adapt their shape to the negative three dimensional image of a wearer.
