Bendure A B S T R A C T A disposable absorbent structure having a surfactant treated intermediate layer beneath the outer surface of the topsheet. The surfactant treated intermediate layer may be either a discrete substrate treated with surfactant or it may be a component of the disposable absorbent structure, such as the absorbent core, which is treated with surfactant. The disposable absorbent device has improved fluid penetration characteristics without a significant degradation in surface dryness for a wide range of topsheet materials and constructions.
