The present invention relates to an acoustic sensor device (10) for capturing internal body sounds. The acoustic sensor device is designed to sense the flexing of a patient's skin that is a result of the localized nature of internal body sounds, especially the patient's heart sounds, and generate an electrical signal analogous to the flexure of the skin. The acoustic sensing device of the present invention has as its principal components two thin film piezoelectric sensing portions (12, 14), preferably formed from polyvinylidene fluoride or a similar piezoeletric material, two layers (16, 18) of a compliant, substantially incompressible material, a flexible and elastic adhesive layer (20) between respective ones of the sensing portions and the incompressible material layers, an electrical connector (22) at one end of the sensing device, an optional neutral plane inducer (24), an electrostatic shield (26) for the electrical connector, a moisture barrier/protective coating (28), and an optional adhesive or cream layer (30) for adhering the sensor device to the skin of the patient.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de détection acoustique (10) servant à capter des sons émis par l'intérieur du corps. Le dispositif est conçu pour détecter le fléchissement de l'épiderme d'un patient provenant de la nature localisée de sons émis par l'intérieur du corps, en particulier, les battements cardiaques et pour produire un signal électrique analogue au fléchissement de l'épiderme. Le dispositif décrit comporte, en tant qu'éléments principaux, deux parties de détection piézoélectriques à couches minces (12, 14), de préférence constituées par du fluorure de polyvinylidène ou un matériau piézoélectrique similaire, deux couches (16, 18) en matériau conformable, pratiquement incompressible, une couche adhésive souple et élastique (20) située entre des couches respectives des parties de détection et des couches en matériau incompressible, un connecteur électrique (22) à une extrémité du dispositif de détection, un inducteur éventuel à lignes neutres (24), une protection électrostatique (26) pour le connecteur électrique, un revêtement protecteur/barrière contre l'humidité (28), ainsi qu'une couche éventuelle adhésive ou couche de crème (30) servant à faire adhérer le dispositif de détection à l'épiderme du patient.
