A disposable bag includes a pliable plastic bag body, an elongated strip member, a releasable engagement member, and two lateral side strip members. The bag body has an open annular upper end for access into an interior thereof, and an annular peripheral portion that confines the upper end. The elongated strip member is made of a material more rigid than the bag body, and is disposed on an inner surface to form an anchoring segment with right and left ends. The engagement member is disposed on an outer surface of the bag body and on the rear side of the anchoring segment. Each side strip member is made of the same material as the elongated strip member, and has a proximate end forming a foldable juncture with the respective end of the anchoring segment, and a distal end. Each side strip member is of such a length that when the distal ends are swung away from the anchoring segment about the junctures, the distal ends will stretch a front segment of the peripheral portion which is opposite to the anchoring segment to enable the front segment together with the anchoring segment to retain a respective one of the distal ends at a position substantially vertical to the respective one of the right and left ends of the anchoring segment.
