The disposable cape (36) comprises: a generally rectangular sheet of plastic material (12) having at least one ply or layer and an upper portion (16) thereof with a generally concave U-shaped cutout defining therebetween two straps (30, 32) with each strap having a hole (44, 46) therethrough intermediate side edges of each strap, the straps (30, 32) being adapted to be received around a person's neck and under the chin and held in place by the finger (50) of a person wearing the cape (36) which finger is inserted through the holes when the two holes (44, 46) are brought into alignment with each other. The upper portion (16) of the plastic material (12) includes holes (14) for mounting the sheet (12) on at least one support rod (18, 20). A perforated line (22, 24) extends laterally from one side edge (26) of the sheet (12), generally parallel to the upper portion (16) and spaced below an upper edge of the sheet (12) to a generally concave or U-shaped perforated line (34) which extends downwardly through bight portion of the line (34) and then upwardly to a second line of perforations located beneath the upper edge of the sheet (12) and then extends to an opposite side edge (28) of the sheet (12).
Ce plastron jetable (36) est constitué d'une feuille de plastique (12) en une seule épaisseur et de forme généralement rectangulaire. La partie supérieure (16) présente une découpe en U à profil généralement concave définissant intérieurement deux bandes (30, 32). Chaque bande est trouée (44, 46) entre ses deux bords. Ces bandes (30, 32) sont conçues pour aller autour du cou de l'utilisateur en passant sous le menton. Pour le maintien en place du plastron (36), l'utilisateur passe son doigt (50) dans les deux trous (44, 46) disposés en coïncidence. La partie supérieure (16) de la feuille en matière plastique (12) comporte des trous (14) permettant le montage de la feuille (12) sur au moins une tringle support (18, 20). Une ligne de perforations (22, 24) part d'abord d'un bord latéral (26) de la feuille (12) généralement parallèlement à la lisière (16) en restant à une certaine distance en dessous du bord supérieur de la feuille (12), pour former ensuite une ligne de perforations (34) en U ou de forme généralement concave en développement vers le bas en passant par une zone formant une anse de la ligne (34), puis pour remonter vers une seconde ligne de perforations située en dessous du bord supérieur de la feuille (12), après quoi elle se prolonge jusqu'à un bord opposé (28) de la feuille (12).
