Description

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cuvette and stirrer assembly for use with an in vitro reflectance oximeter is disclosed. The cuvette body has a recess therein to receive a blood sample and a transparent bottom for light transmittal. The stirrer assembly includes a hollow cover adapted to fit over the cuvette body, the cover includes a stirrer extending into the recess of the body. The cover is provided with an external gear engageable with a drive gear of the oximeter whereby the cover may be rotated relative to the cuvette body so that the sample in the recess may be stirred. The assembly is readily mounted on and detached from the oximeter so that a plurality of samples may be rapidly evaluated.
