A disposable diaper capable of preventing the skin of a user from being soiled with feces. An isolation sheet (17) is fitted to the inner surface sheet (11a) of a chassis (11) in the disposable diaper (1). The isolation sheet (17) is so formed that a front end portion (17a) and a rear end portion (17b) are secured to the inner surface sheet (11a), and the center part of an intermediate portion (17d) in the lateral direction of the diaper (1) is separable from the inner surface sheet (11a). A through hole (26) forming an arc projected toward the front of the diaper (1) is provided in the intermediate portion (17d), and elastic members (27) extending in the longitudinal direction (L) of the diaper (1) in an extended state are fitted to near both sides of the through hole (26). The elastic members (27) extend to the front of the diaper (1) along the edges of the through hole (26) so as to approach a centerline (C) bisecting the width of the diaper (1).
