ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved combination electrode for use in medical applications requiring monitoring and stimulation, said electrode providing contact with a patient's skin. The electrode comprises a conductive member which can be connected to an external electrical apparatus and an electrically conduc- tive organic polymer plasticized with a polyhydric alcohol for electrically interfacing to the patient's skin being electric- ally and mechanically connected to the conductive member. This electrode, which performs a similar function to the prior art electrodes, eliminates the need for an electrolyte solution, electrode paste or electrode gel.
