An insect-control member (10) includes a flexible or semi-rigid substrate (12) having a thickness and a flexural modulus. The thickness and the flexural modulus are interrelated material properties, one value being defined by the other value so as to satisfy a prescribed criterion. The substrate (12) supports an insect-interactive material (18). The substrate is generally optimally adapted to radiate pressure waves from a vibration generator to which it may be coupled in order to lure or repel insects.

La présente invention concerne un organe de contrôle d'insectes comprenant un substrat souple ou semi-rigide ayant une épaisseur et un module de flexion. L'épaisseur et le module de flexion sont des propriétés de matériau interdépendantes, une valeur étant définie par l'autre valeur de manière à satisfaire un critère prédéterminé. Le substrat porte un matériau d'interaction avec les insectes. De manière générale, le substrat présente une aptitude optimale au rayonnement d'ondes à partir d'un générateur de vibrations auquel il peut être relié afin d'attirer ou de repousser des insectes.
