This invention is a protective covering (10) to protect off-the-shelf disposable pulse oximeter sensors (20) from bodily or surgical fluids. The protective covering will envelop and encase the inserted pulse oximeter sensor up to a point on the connection cable (24) extending from the pulse oximeter sensor. The protective covering is a polypropylene, rubber, or similar material, which preferably is tapered from the large width at the entrance to the narrower width at the blind end. The protective covering is bilaminar in nature to contain a substantially rectangular pulse oximeter.
Cette invention se rapporte à une enveloppe de protection (10) destinée à protéger des fluides corporels ou chirurgicaux les capteurs (20) d'un sphygmo-oxymètre jetable standard. Cette enveloppe de protection va envelopper ou enfermer le capteur du sphygmo-oxymètre introduit dans l'enveloppe, jusqu'à un point situé sur le câble de raccordement (24) partant du capteur du sphygmo-oxymètre. Cette enveloppe de protection est faite de polypropylène, de caoutchouc ou d'une matière similaire et elle est de préférence effilée avec une section décroissante de l'entrée à l'extrémité fermée. Cette enveloppe de protection est de nature bilamellaire de façon à pouvoir contenir un sphygmo-oxymètre essentiellement rectangulaire.
