Disclosed is a disposable, semi-enclosed applicator (10) for distributing a substance onto a target surface. The applicator has a first side (24), a second side (26), and an internal cavity (29) between the first and second sides. The applicator further includes at least one opening, such that the internal cavity (29) is externally accessible. In a preferred embodiment, the first side (24) comprises a porous sheet containing at least 50%, by weight, non- absorbent material, the second side (26) comprises sheet an absorbent containing at least 50%, by weight of cellulosic material; and the applicator further comprises a substantially fluid-impervious barrier layer (25) within said internal cavity (29) adjacent the first side (24). In another preferred embodiment, the first side (24) comprises a porous non-absorbent sheet having a basis weight of no greater than about 100 gsm, the second side (26) comprrises an absorbent sheet having a basis weight of no greater than about 140 gsm, and the applicator further comprises a substantially fluid-impervious barrier layer (25) within said internal cavity (29) adjacent said first side (24), wherein the applicator has a Ratio of Absorbency of the second side (26) to the first side (24) of at least about 1.5.
L'invention se rapporte à un applicateur (10) jetable semi-protégé, conçu pour répartir une substance sur une surface cible. Cet applicateur possède une première face (24), une seconde face (26) et une cavité (29) interne située entre les première et seconde faces. Cet applicateur présente par ailleurs une ouverture permettant d'accéder de l'extérieur à la cavité (29) interne. Dans une réalisation préférée, la première face (24) comporte une feuille poreuse contenant au moins 50 % en poids d'une matière non absorbante, la seconde face (26) comporte une feuille absorbante contenant au moins 50 % en poids de matière cellulosique, et l'applicateur contient en outre une couche barrière (25) sensiblement imperméable aux fluides au sein de ladite cavité (29) interne, en position adjacente à la première face (24). Dans une autre réalisation préférée, la première face (24) comporte une feuille poreuse non absorbante ayant un poids de base inférieur ou égal à 100 g/m<2> environ, la seconde face (26) comporte une feuille absorbante ayant un poids de base inférieur ou égal à 140 g/m<2> environ, et l'applicateur comporte une couche barrière (25) sensiblement imperméable aux fluides au sein de ladite cavité (29) interne, en position adjacente à la première face (24), ledit applicateur ayant un rapport de pouvoir d'absorption de la seconde face (26) à la première face (24) d'au moins 1,5 environ.
