Case 2210 July 22, 1981 JB/vl ABSTRACT A disposable syringe has a barrel, hub, and needle with a plunger rod/protector attached to the outer surface of the barrel near the hub by flexible protrusions from the inner surface of a broader end section of the plunger rod/protector. The flexible protrusions frictionally engage the outer surface. Also the plunger rod/protector itself, with the flexible protrusions from the inner surface of a broader end section thereof for gripping the outer surface of the barrel (when present).
